about

I am an artist, printmaker, and teacher of art and design based in northern Lincolnshire. My passion and commitment to preserving traditional printmaking processes led me to establish, in 2020, thehumberprintmaker, creating unique letterpress prints of local landscapes and landmarks, combined with an eclectic mix of words.

Each print is produced by hand using a traditional press and a collection of antique wood type, custom made lead type and bespoke plates that are made to my own designs. The type is composed by hand, inks mixed by hand and each colour is pulled individually. Due to this manual process, only a limited number of each design is made, ensuring every impression is unique.

My aim is to create products that are interesting and eco-friendly in both the materials and the processes used. I print on sustainably produced paper with high quality rubber-based ink. My printing process uses no electricity or batteries, just old fashioned elbow-grease! Packaging is recycled and I use bio-degradable wraps.
